Prof. Dr. Murat Nihat Arslan is a forensic medicine specialist. He graduated from Trakya University Faculty of Medicine in 2003 and completed his forensic medicine residency at the Council of Forensic Medicine in 2009. His residency thesis focused on bloodstain pattern analysis.

Between 2010 and 2025, he served at the Council of Forensic Medicine as a specialist at the Morgue Specialization Department, rapporteur of the Fourth Forensic Medicine Specialization Board, secretary of the Forensic Medicine General Assembly, Head of the Autopsy Division, Head of the Morgue Specialization Department (2017–2022), and specialist at the Küçükçekmece Forensic Medicine Branch Directorate. Since 2025 he has served as Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine.

He conducts national and international work in forensic autopsy, bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA), forensic document examination, and expert witness services, contributing to the field through publications, books, and educational activities. He is registered as an expert witness with the Istanbul Regional Expert Witness Board under registry number 6020.
